Raw airs tonight (Oct. 6) with a live show from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This is the final episode of Raw during the three week build to Crown Jewel, which takes place on Saturday (Oct. 11)
in Australia.
WWE reportedly has an opponent for Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel
WWE officially has four matches booked for this weekend’s Crown Jewel PLE in Australia, which means there is room to add at least one more match to the card. Roman Reigns just returned to Raw last week and is arguably the biggest star in the company, so it makes all the sense in the world for the final match to feature him.
According to a new report from F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer, that is indeed the plan:
“Based on an internal lineup sheet for Saturday’s Crown Jewel show in Perth, Australia, Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed was listed as the final match for the show.”
When we last saw the OTC in WWE, he already defeated Reed at Clash in Paris, before doing an injury angle to explain his absence since then. If WWE is running the match back this weekend in Reed’s home country, then a gimmick or stipulation of some kind will likely be added to spice things up this time. Roman happens to be kicking off tonight’s episode of Raw in Dallas, so I don’t think WWE will waste too much time getting this final match booked for Crown Jewel.
What angle does WWE have in mind for finalizing the Crown Jewel card with a match for Roman Reigns? Tune into Raw to find out.
The rest of the card
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch is fighting Maxxine Dupri on tonight’s show. The Man is still sore about tapping out to AJ Lee at Wrestlepalooza, and she took out her anger on both Dupri and Akira Tozawa last week. Will AJ return to Raw tonight to dish out some more tiny fists of fury to Lynch’s face, or even worse, to cause Lynch to lose against one of the least experienced wrestlers in the women’s division?
Speaking of AJ, her husband CM Punk is advertised for an appearance on Raw. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is already losing his mind over the possibility of failing to beat WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on yet another PLE at Crown Jewel, so the last thing he needs is for CM to be on the show tonight looking to whoop his ass.
Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne Perez is also booked on Raw. Bayley will probably be in Lyra’s corner at ringside, whether she wants her there or not. But which version of Bayley will show up: The Hugger, or the Role Model?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– Jimmy Uso doesn’t like how Roman Reigns is encouraging Jey to bring out his inner Tribal Chief. Can The Vision take advantage of this problem to drive a wedge between The Usos, or will Jey continue to do that by the way he talks down to his twin brother?
– Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer will face WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at Crown Jewel. Both women are babyfaces and don’t really have a problem with each other. In fact, they’re teaming up on SmackDown in Australia at then end of this week. Will Kiana James and Women’s United States Champion Giulia cross over to the red brand tonight to ambush Vaquer before they fight her in tag team action in Australia?
– IYO SKY has agreed to team up with Rhea Ripley to face Asuka and Kairi Sane at Crown Jewel. IYO is emotionally devastated by Asuka’s recent betrayal, and Rhea doesn’t know if she can rely on her as a partner for this match. Will IYO’s actions tonight leave Rhea with even bigger doubts, or can SKY do something to assure Ripley that she will do whatever it takes to win in Australia?
– The build to AJ Styles’ match against John Cena at Crown Jewel is missing a key ingredient: John Cena! What will AJ do tonight to get fans more hyped for one of the final matches of Cena’s career?
– The New Day are really, really good at losing matches in WWE. Will LA Knight get to build a winning streak by beating another one of these guys tonight, or will a different member of the Raw roster be lucky enough to face them instead?
– What does the rest of the Judgment Day have to say after Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio lied and cheated his way to a successful title defense against Rusev last week?
– What’s next for Rusev after he failed to beat Dirty Dom for the gold?
– Will Dragon Lee find a way to get one over on Los Americanos’ Rayo and Bravo again tonight?
– Where the f*** is Sheamus?
What will you be looking for on Raw?
