Andrade El Idolo paid his respects to PAC on social media on Tuesday night (September 29), calling the late star a “special amigo.”
Andrade was PAC’s final opponent before he passed away over the weekend; the two men wrestled a well-received match at AEW’s All Out in Chicago on Saturday (September 26).
“I still can’t believe it!,” Andrade posted on X (Twitter). “RIP PAC. You are Special Amigo! My thoughts are with his family and friends across the world.🙏🏽”
Many people in the comments of Andrade’s post praised their All Out match, while others sent their love to the Mexican star since the news of PAC’s death has special significance for him.
Andrade posted an even longer message on his Instagram account, where he revealed it was Penta who had informed him of PAC’s passing. Though the two men had thought it was a rumor at the time, Andrade said he called AEW’s office and got confirmation of the tragic news.
“I never imagined it would be his last match, we both knew we had more to give. He was someone I always wanted to wrestle, and I enjoyed sharing the ring with him. He was such a special wrestler, he had it all and he always pushed me to give that little bit extra, he just kept getting better; every year, I’d ask myself, ‘PAC is even better than before,’” Andrade wrote.
He added: “My friend, you were incredible inside the ring nobody like you and outside of the ring You had a big heart! We were in so many of the same promotions at the same time but never faced each other (NJPW, NXT, WWE), and we only got to face off three times in AEW! I’m going to miss you,Amigo! Wherever you are now, sending you a huge hug! I’ll never forget this match! Forever Pac.”
Countless wrestlers from promotions all over the world have shared tributes to PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterly and competed as (Adrian) Neville in WWE.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made headlines for his heartfelt eulogy for PAC while extending love to Satterly’s family and AEW.
Dustin Rhodes, Will Ospreay, Danhausen, Paige, Mustafa Ali, Paul Heyman were amongthe first stars to pay tribute to the English wrestler soon after news of his death broke on Sunday.
Later, R-Truth, Kevin Owens, William Regal, and Wade Barrett joined the many others in commenting on PAC’s passing.
Two of his most well-known bosses also eulogized him. AEW boss Tony Khan said on X that PAC “defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency + dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world to pursue. May Ben rest in peace.”
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque wrote on X: “Saddened to hear about the death of Ben Satterley known in @WWE as Neville. I had the pleasure of working with Ben in the early days of @WWENXT. This moment, from NXT Arrival, marked the beginning of a new era for that brand and the men and women on it … and Ben was a major force behind that. He was an extraordinary talent and even kinder human being. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans across the world.”
Buddy Matthews also remembered his late friend on Instagram in his stories, where he shared an image of the two facing off in AEW with the caption: “This match was a dream of mine, we missed each other in the cruiserweight division but was lucky enough to stand opposite to him in AEW. Once he left 205live & I arrived I strived to maintain the quality of matches that Ben had set! But soon realized that Ben set the bar way to high that no one could get too! A true professional in the game & legit just a good person with a beautiful heart – you’ll be missed forever and you legacy will live on forever Thank you for being you!”
John Cena on Tuesday (September 29) shared a pic on Instagram of himself on the receiving end of a kick from PAC (as Neville). A day earlier, Cena posted an image of PAC hitting his signature corkscrew shooting star press move.
