Greetings, BBN!
Not much conference action last Saturday. Only two games impacted the standings, with Oklahoma besting Auburn and Missouri edging South Carolina. Both were interesting games to watch, though.
Both came down to the final quarter and were one-possession games most of the way through. The really big games to watch will be next week, however, as LSU goes to Ole Miss and Alabama goes to Georgia on a Saturday that will have massive implications for which two teams go to the SEC Championship just over two months from now.
Let’s take a look at the standings heading into Week 5:

Notes:
- If Ole Miss beats LSU, Georgia will still remain in their path but not Alabama. If LSU wins, Alabama will still remain in their path but not Georgia.
- Kentucky’s game at South Carolina might be a make-or-break game for the Wildcats. With the Gamecocks struggling to get off the ground and already 0-2, this might be UK’s best chance to snag a league road win before games with Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.
- Oklahoma is red-hot right now, undefeated and inside the top-10 of the polls. They are off this week and then host Kent State, so hopefully they don’t cool off and lose their momentum before their next league game in the Red River Rivalry showdown.
- Arkansas took a tough non-conference loss to Memphis over the weekend, and next hosts Notre Dame. They might get beat up by non-conference foes too badly to compete for bowl eligibility in the league.
- Half the league is still undefeated overall, with either 4-0 or 3-0 records. LSU and Ole Miss will be the only game guaranteed to lower that number this weekend.
