Barcelona are hoping to have Dani Olmo available again in time for their first fixture of 2026 against Espanyol in La Liga on January 3.
Olmo has been sidelined once again after sustaining a dislocated shoulder in the win over Atletico Madrid and was ruled out by the Catalan giants for around a month.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Olmo’s recovery has been going well and has led to optimism that he could be available for the Catalan derby.
Barcelona certainly won’t rush him back, particularly as he has
suffered a similar injury previously, but he has responded well to conservative treatment so far.
Hansi Flick’s side take on Espanyol in La Liga at the start of 2026 and then jet out to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup and a semi-final tie against Athletic Club.
The winners of the match will go on to play either Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid in the final.
