NFL Week 9: Early afternoon games open thread

The Washington Commanders host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, so we’ve got a few more games to watch late Sunday afternoon.

Fox has three games, with the big matchup coming out of the NFC

North. The Minnesota Vikings are visiting the Detroit Lions, and, with Detroit coming to town next week, Commanders fans will be watching this one closely. The Vikings are going back to J.J. McCarthy after Carson Wentz took over as the starter for over a month before he was finally forced to undergo another shoulder surgery. Another future Commanders opponent, the Denver Broncos, is visiting the Houston Texans. The final game is between the Carolina Panthers and the Green Bay Packers.

CBS has a big lineup for their early schedule, with five games slated for the 1 p.m. time slot. The Giants are hosting the San Francisco 49ers in their first game since Cam Skattebo suffered a serious ankle injury vs the Eagles.
