The Steelers have signed cornerback Doneiko Slaughter from the practice squad back to the 53-man roster, the team announced Saturday afternoon.
It’s been a busy 2026 for Slaughter, who started the season on the practice squad, was elevated to the active roster for each of the first three games of the season, signed to the 53-man roster for the fourth game, and then waived and re-signed to the practice squad ahead of Week 5. Still out of elevations for the regular season, he was just re-signed again
now that a roster spot opened with wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. landing on injured reserve.
Slaughter has only played on special teams this season.
In addition to signing Slaughter, the Steelers elevated running back Lew Nichols and wide receiver Brandon Smith from the practice squad to the active/inactive roster ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Colts. Both Nichols and Smith with revert to the practice squad following the game.
