With coverage of the Midterms taking up The CW’s Tuesday night, NXT was bumped to Wednesday this week. That gave WWE another opportunity to “counter-program” AEW, which has its annual Blood & Guts show set for Dynamite tonight (Nov. 4).
Heading into the latest AEW/NXT head-to-head, we knew John Cena, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Chad Gable, Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee, UFC’s Michael Chandler, and probably 946’s Royce Keys & Cruz Montana would be at the WWE Performance Center this week. NXT Women’s champion Kelani
Jordan was also booked for a defense against a MYSTERY OPPONENT, which figures to be another Raw or SmackDown star.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting (from behind Insider’s Elite paywall) that a former WWE Divas and AEW Women’s champ has been spotted in Orlando. Johnson doesn’t connect this wrestler to Jordan’s challenger, but it’s hard not to considering she was the first to ever hold the NXT Women’s title.
Johnson’s WWE sources have confirmed Paige was “brought in” for NXT, though.
Do you think Paige will face Kelani Jordan tonight? Or will she be used on the show in a different way, or in a different story? Is it strictly coincidence Paige would be the third or fourth former AEW star brought in for NXT?
Sound off below.
