Hello and happy Labor Day to my fellow workers of the world*! In addition to well wishes, I bring you a rumor for Raw tonight (Mon., Sept. 7) in Birmingham, Alabama’s Legacy Arena.
The rumor covers something we here on the wrestle web have been discussing for months: WWE Grand Slam champion Bayley. The 37-year-old star’s current WWE contract expires at the end of this year, and after word of that got out she and bestie Mercedes Moné had fun teasing Bayley’s possible jump to AEW for a few weeks. But
last week we heard WWE Creative was working on plans for Bayley’s return, and that was followed by a report she’d recently inked a deal to remain with WWE — possibly in an expanded role.
And by now you should have put it together, the SPOILER for tonight is that Bayley “is expected to return to WWE Raw this week”. That’s from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, for now behind their Elite paywall.
No word on what Bayley will be doing tonight in Birmingham, at least as of early afternoon Eastern time. Other than a few house show appearances, the last time WWE fans saw Bayley she was being beaten and then beaten up by Lyra Valkyria during July’s Saturday Night’s Main Event from Madison Square Garden.
