Day 16 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Wednesday. Here is our recap of the session.
Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report – Day 16 (8/20/25)
1. Pickett Out for Final Game: With QB Kenny Pickett having taken part in 11-on-11 drills on Tuesday, I thought we might be in line to see him this Saturday against the Rams. Scratch that, though. He did not take part in 11-on-11 drills on Wednesday, and head coach Kevin Stefanski said that was always the plan. He also said that Pickett will not play in the final preseason game.
2. Sanders, On the Other
Hand…did return to 11-on-11 drills since the first time since hurting his oblique muscle last week. He was still limited, but that’s a positive sign toward him making the 53-man roster as opposed to having to be placed on IR or something like that.
3. Key Injury Updates: After hurting his shoulder on Tuesday, CB Denzel Ward was not on the field Wednesday. Stefanski insisted that he is fine, and should be practicing again pretty soon. WR Cedric Tillman also did not practice with a thumb injury that sounds like a sprain, so they are letting that heal up a little.
CB Greg Newsome and CB Chigozie Anusiem also returned to practice.
4. Player Movement: In case you missed it, being a quality player on the back-end of a stacked depth chart can sometimes get you shipped to another team. Such was the case today for DT Jowon Briggs, who was traded to the Jets right around practice time.
5. JOK Sighting: Even though he is out for the season, LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was at practice, watching and supporting his teammates:
6. Play of the Day: Only the Browns’ official account can send out video clips of team drills now, so here’s a fun highlight of QB Shedeur Sanders finding WR Cade McDonald for a big play:
7. Brownies: LB Winston Reid is dealing with a back injury. … WR Kisean Johnson left practice with an injury. … Waiting in the wings still is, apparently, QB Deshaun Watson:
8. Next Up: The Browns will practice on Thursday at 12:15 pm.
