Aaron Rourke’s trailblazing run as WWE Evolve Men’s champion is over after more than 100 days and six successful defenses, which took place on Evolve and at two independent shows. Rourke officially won it from Jackson Drake on the Feb. 20 edition of Evolve’s weekly Tubi show, and dropped it to Harlem Lewis on the episode that premiered last night (July 15) on the streamer.
Lewis, who’s competed on LFG and done some Main Event jobs while working NXT house show and dark matches, countered Rourke’s Molly-Go-Round
finisher before hitting his own to win the belt.
WWE helped spread the word about the new Evolve Men’s champion.
Drake is an NXT mainstay now, and former Evolve Women’s champion Kendal Grey has already captured the top prize in her division on the next rung of WWE’s ladder. But the wrestler Grey beat for Evolve’s belt, Kali Armstrong, is only starting to get into the mix on NXT almost a year after dropping Evolve’s title.
