There have been lots of discussion around Lennart Karl at the moment. Uli Hoeneß and others aren’t quite prepared to see Karl make the jump to the big stage, at this moment, but for many fans and pundits,
Karl is here to stay. Antonio Rüdiger recently chimed in to put in a good word on Karl.
More than a good word in fact. Rüdiger recently named Bayern Munich’s own Lennart Karl when asked who is the top German talent. What seems like a bold take to those who have not been watching Karl, might just be correct.
While Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz have gone under the radar in recent months (both for very different reasons), Karl has been perhaps the standout player in German football, at least in his age group. The German attacker is the most valuable 2008 born player, according to Transfermarkt.
It is ony a matter of time before the world starts to take serious notice of this wonderkid. While German footballers typically have a harder time gathering media hype to English or Spanish born players, one can only ignore his skill and potential for so long. Has Germany found their next gem? There is no better time to answer that question than on the global stage next summer in North America.
