The Detroit Lions’ preseason schedule officially hits the midway point on Saturday afternoon when they welcome the Washington Commanders to Ford Field for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff.
Both team are expected to play some starters, but it’s not clear which ones. We know the Lions will not be starting quarterback Jared Goff, giving veteran Josh Dobbs the nod to open the game. It’s unclear, however, whether Jayden Daniels will play for Washington.
Regardless, most of Saturday afternoon will be spent evaluating
the depth players on each team. For the Lions, it’s an opportunity for players to make one of their final impressions for roster spots. The wide receiver and linebacker spots seem particularly competitive, so you should keep an extra eye on those positions—or these 10 players to watch.
