We’re less than 24 hours away from Crown Jewel, but behind-the-scenes WWE is already planning for what’s ahead of them after they leave Australia.
One of the biggest dates on their remaining 2025 schedule
is Nov. 29. That’s when Survivor Series hits San Diego’s Petco Park. That show having a WarGames theme these days, the men’s match is one of the main things that caught our eye in a report on upcoming WWE cards in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Especially because it featured a name we hadn’t seen in a while…
Dave Meltzer writes:
The WarGames plans as of one week ago was a men’s match with Punk & Roman Reigns & Jacob Fatu & Jey Uso along with a fifth man, not yet decided but Jimmy Uso and LA Knight are the two candidates, against a heel team of Rollins & Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed & Brock Lesnar & Austin Theory.
It’s the last name that made us do a double take. Theory’s been out with an injury since July; it’s why Grayson Waller’s been palling around with The New Day. Joining the WWE World Heavyweight champ’s group, as the WON report he’ll be on The Vision team implies he will be, would be a big step up for the 28-year-old.
The AR Fox and WWE-trained Atlanta native has been a highly touted prospect since current WWE Evolve exec Gabe Sapolsky made him a main event-er for the old independent Evolve promotion in 2017. He’s mostly leaned into his “meathead” image during his WWE run, usually as a heel and almost always as part of a team. Often described as an early version of his legit childhood hero John Cena, working with Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed would be a big opportunity for Theory.
We’ll see if it happens, and how it pans out if it does.
