Is there anything to Bayern and Alexander-Arnold? (Madrid Universal)
Earlier this week, some extremely bizarre reports started to circulate that Bayern Munich had its eyes on Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. Here is the gist of the reporting so far:
Real Madrid
could be facing an unexpected situation in the coming months, as a fresh report has raised serious doubts about the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Santiago Bernabeu. According to a recent revelation from Fichajes, the English full-back is already considering leaving the club just months after arriving on a free transfer from Liverpool.
When Alexander-Arnold made the move to Real Madrid, expectations were sky-high. His arrival was seen as a statement signing, with the club securing one of Europe’s most recognisable right-backs without paying a transfer fee. However, the reality of his first season in Spain has fallen well short of what both parties initially envisioned. More concerning for the player is the fact that he has failed to establish himself as an undisputed starter.
At various points throughout the campaign, he has been overlooked in the rotation, something that has clearly affected his confidence and sense of importance within the team. As a result, the transfer market is beginning to take notice and reports emerging from England and Germany indicate that Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the situation. The Bavarian giants are keen to strengthen their right-back position with a player of proven international quality and view Alexander-Arnold as an ideal fit should the door to an exit from Real Madrid open.
Is this legit? To be blunt — no, unless there is a prevailing feeling that the Bavarians are going to lose Konrad Laimer, it seems farcical.
Per Capology, Alexander-Arnold makes €16,670,000 in salary and €15,000,000 in bonuses per season. That kind of all-in package would not be palatable for Bayern Munich, especially for a right-back.
Bayern still in the hunt for Anderson (CaughtOffside’s Mark Brus)
Nottingham Forest central midfielder Elliot Anderson is reportedly on the radar of Bayern Munich, but the competition could be fierce as Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all in the mix as well:
Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are all involved in what promises to be one of the big transfer stories of 2026.
It is unlikely that this player will be on the move in January, but work is already going on behind the scenes as clubs battle to position themselves as favourites for a summer deal.
I’m talking, of course, about Elliot Anderson, whom Nottingham Forest expect to sell for £100m or possibly more in the next few months amid strong interest from so many top clubs.
At the moment, sources in the industry keep bringing up four main names – City, United, Chelsea, and Bayern – but of course we can’t rule out others getting involved at some point as well. Thomas Tuchel has called Anderson one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season, and it’s a widely held view among coaches and scouts across Europe.
Anderson would be a big swing for the Bavarians compared to the cheaper options that the club has been linked to but at 23-years-old, these clubs are looking to capitalize on a player entering into his prime.
McKennie getting interest (Give Me Sport’s Ben Jacobs via ESPN)
Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie is getting some interest on the market:
Atletico Madrid, two Premier League clubs and a few sides in Italy are interested in Juventus and USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie, whose transfer is valued at over €10 million with his contract expiring in the summer.
McKennie seems to always be in the transfer rumor mill. Maybe, he will finally move on from Juve this summer.
Džeko to Schalke goes official (Schalke 04)
Schalke 04 made its loan of Edin Džeko official:
This still seems crazy.
City boys to compensate fans for ticket price after embarrassing loss (Fox Soccer)
Manchester City players Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri are going to pay for the tickets of any fans who traveled to Norway to watch them lose to FK Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League:
LFC wants Bastoni (ESPN)
Liverpool is reportedly taking a look at Inter Milan star center-back Alessandro Bastoni:
Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has emerged as a top target for Liverpool after the club missed out on signing Manchester City-bound Marc Guéhi, TEAMtalk reports. The 26-year-old Italy international, who has two-and-a-half years of his contract, is reportedly very keen on the idea of testing himself abroad. Another name high on Liverpool’s centre-back shortlist is Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck, who is widely expected to be on the move after this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
