It was no surprise but at least it was official. Arizona guard Micky Perdue announced that her college career is over this afternoon via her social media accounts.
Perdue transferred to Arizona after stints at Toledo, Glenville State, and Cleveland State. She helped Glenville State reach the Division II Final Four in 2023 before transferring back to DI at Cleveland State in her native Ohio. She was a two-time Horizon League Player of the Year
at Cleveland State and led them to the WNIT last year.
She was brought to Arizona in head coach Becky Burke’s first year to be a scorer, and she more than fulfilled that role before she got hurt. Perdue is still the official leader in scoring for the Wildcats 10 games after her season ended. She scored 17.1 points per game through 15 contests, including four Big 12 games. She shot 44.2 percent from the floor and hit 35 percent of her shots from 3-point distance.
According to Burke, Arizona found out less than 24 hours before its game against UCF on Jan. 10 that Perdue would be unavailable due to a wrist injury. She has continued to be listed as “out” on the availability report ever since.
Perdue said that she is done “at the college level,” leaving open the possibilities of playing professionally after she recovers.
