Another short-notice gamble has ended in a pink slip.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) newcomer Jessie Rosas, the older brother of Raul Rosas Jr., was released today (Weds., Aug. 12, 2026) after withdrawing from his fight against Miles Johns just one day before UFC Vegas 120, which took place last weekend (Sat., Aug. 8, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Raul, his brother withdrew after doctors suspected that a mark on his forehead was herpes. However, it was ultimately determined
to be mat burn.
Social media account UFC Roster Watch was first to reveal the news.
Rosas (8-1), one of three fighting brothers in the Rosas family, was set to make his UFC debut while riding a three-fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming by finish. His lone career defeat came in a massive upset loss to regional journeyman Keenan Lewis.
The 23-year-old owns a 75 percent finish rate with four submissions and two knockouts (like this).
Rosas still has plenty of time to fight his way back to UFC. However, he will probably have to earn the matchmakers’ trust again after this latest debacle—and it is not the first time he has left a promotion scrambling.
Rosas also withdrew from his Fury FC 102 main event against John Yannis just minutes before showtime.
It is safe to say “Tachidito” has priors.
