This is an abbreviated edition of Bavarian Loan Works mostly featuring the loanees that were away with their national teams — some at the senior level and some with the U-21s. There were four loanees whose
clubs were still playing — two in the German fourth division and two Frauen loanees — but none of them actually played for their club this week. Take a look at what the loanees accomplished this weekend.
Note: Only those that were called up to their national teams or those with club matches scheduled were listed in this edition.
FC Bayern Munich
There are nine players from on loan from the first team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are four players on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Daniel Peretz, and Armando Sieb.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel was with Germany but sat on the bench for both wins against Luxembourg and Slovakia.
Stuttgart will be on the road against BVB Dortmund on Saturday.
Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim
Ibrahimović was with the U-21s this weekend. He was on the bench for the beginning of Germany vs Malta. He watched his Bayern teammates — Karl and Bischof — put up five goals before he came into the match in the 78th minute. While he was on the field Germany added one more and won 6-0.
Ibrahimović was on the bench for Germany’s 2-0 win away to Georgia, but did not make it onto the pitch.
Heidenheim will host Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
England – Premier League
There are two player on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
João Palhinha – Tottenham
Palhinha was on the bench for Portugal’s 2-0 loss against and Portugal’s 9-1 win against Armenia but did not make it onto the pitch for either match.
Tottenham will be away to North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham
Kusi-Asare started and played 77 minutes for Sweden against North Macedonia in Qualification for the U-21 Euros. He assisted Sweden’s first goal in the 32nd minute and then put a shot on goal in the 33rd minute, which was saved but put right back into the back of the net by his teammate who scored the first goal. Sweden were up 3-1 when Kusi-Asare was subbed out. They added one more and won 4-1.
Kusi-Asare started again on Tuesday against Armenia. He once again assisted the opening goal — this time in the 23rd minute. This would be the only goal of the match. Kusi-Asare was pulled off in the 90th minute and watched his team close out a close 1-0 shutout.
Fullham will host Sunderland on Saturday.
Switzerland – Super League
Lovro Zvonarek is the only player on loan from the first team to the Swiss Super League.
Lovro Zvonarek – Grasshopper
Zvonarek captained Croatia’s U-21s in their Euro Qualifiers. He started out the match with a yellow card in the sixth minute for a bad foul. He ended his shift with a goal to put Croatia up 2-0 in the 73rd minute right before he was subbed out in the 74th minute. Croatia would add two more goals and win 4-0.
Zvonarek started away to Hungary and played 76 minutes. He did not have as exciting of a game as the one before, but helped his team hold onto an early lead until he was subbed off. Croatia added another goal in the 90th minute and won 2-0.
Grasshopper will host FC Basel on Sunday.
Germany – 2. Bundesliga
There are two players on loan from the second team in the 2. Bundesliga: Noel Aseko and Paul Scholl.
Noel Aseko – Hannover 96
Aseko was on the bench for Germany U-21s’ 6-0 win over Malta but did not make it into the match.
Aseko was again on the bench against Georgia but made in onto the pitch in the 76th minute with Germany up 2-0. He had one shot, which was blocked, but could not contribute much in his short time in the match. Germany held onto a 2-0 win.
Hannover will travel to face Paderborn on Saturday.
Germany – Regionalliga
There are two players on loan in the Regionalliga Südwest: Benedikt Wimmer and David Emmanuel.
Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen
Wimmer was not in the matchday squad for Sandhausen’s 1-0 win over FC Bad Homborg.
Sandhausen will host FSV Frankfurt on Friday.
David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel
Emmanuel was on the bench for Kassel’s 1-1 home draw against Kickers Offenbach but did not make it onto the pitch.
Hessen will host FC Homburg on Saturday.
FC Bayern Munich Frauen
There are two players on loan from the women’s team.
Spain – Primera División Femenina
Edna Imade is the only player on loan to Spain’s Primera División Femenina.
Edna Imade – Real Sociedad
Imade was on the bench for Sociedad’s 1-1 draw at home against Athletic Club but did not make it into the match.
Sociedad will host Alhama CF on Sunday.
Brazil – Brasileirão Feminino
Ana Guzmán is the only player on loan to Brazil’s Brasileirão Feminino.
Ana Guzmán – SE Palmerias
Guzmán was not in the matchday squad for Palmerias’ home match against Taubate. Her team won 5-0.
Palmerias has a cup match on Thursday and a league match on Sunday both away to Ferroviaria.
