The NFL has fined Drake London $12,537 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against the Buccaneers in Week 8. It is London’s first and only fine of the season.
The fine stems from London’s hit on Alex Anzalone after Anzalone’s first pick of the day against Michael Penix Jr.. The league’s Accountability Report specifies that the fine is for “striking/kicking/kneeing.” After the tackle, you see London engage in a little aggression with Anzalone, and that is apparently worth a $12.5K fine.
London joins Chris Blair ($5,972 for unnecessary roughness on a blind-side block in Week 6), Cameron Thomas ($8,333 for unnecessary roughness/use of the helmet in Week 3), and Jake Matthews ($11,941 for unnecessary roughness on a face mask penalty in Week 2) as the only three Falcons players to be fined during the 2026 season.
No Buccaneers players were fined for their play against Atlanta in Week 8.
The NFL donates half the fine money it collects to the NFLPA’s retired players services, and the other half to the NFL Foundation and other organizations including youth football programs, community health and wellness initiatives, and athlete safety efforts.
