Texas A&M extended their season-opening win streak to six on Saturday night, defeating the Florida Gators 34-17 in front of 105,000+ Saturday night at Kyle Field. And thanks to Ole Miss struggling at home
in a win over Washington State, the Aggies continue their steady climb in the rankings. A&M rose one spot to No. 4 in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 as we enter Week 8. It marks the first time that A&M has been ranked in the top four during the regular since 2016.
The Aggies have set themselves up for success in the back half of the season, but in many ways, the toughest tests lie ahead. A&M goes on the road for the first time in SEC play this Saturday at Arkansas, and then gears up for a game in Death Valley against No. X LSU, a bye week and another road game at No. XX Missouri. While every game seems season-defining when you keep winning, it’s fair to say this may be the part of the schedule that best defines what this team’s ceiling will be in 2025.
Next week’s game in Fayetteville begins at 2:30 p.m. and airs on ESPN.
