Now begins a portion of the schedule that is very interesting as the Gophers have three games in a row against similarly talented opponents. It starts with the Dons in Sioux Falls.
KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN

Defend threes – The Dons rank 32nd in the country in 3pt FG%. The one game they shot below 39% was their only loss of the season. Unfortunately for Minnesota, they do not defend the three very well (247th) nor do they shoot it from three very well (309th). This might need to be a point of emphasis for Saturday afternoon’s game.

Rebound, rebound, rebound – This appears to be a real strength of this Gopher squad and should probably be a key for every game this season. This team is decently fun to watch, but besides rebounding, I don’t see that they have a lot of solid team strengths. Rebounding has to be won every night. Second-chance points may be the difference in this game.

Beware the Dons bench – Two of their four leading scorers come off the bench. David Fuchs and Mookie Cook are averaging 10.2 and 13.2 points per game, respectively. Fuchs has come off the bench in all five of their games while Cook has started one (their most recent game).
PREDICTION
KenPom projects a Gopher loss and ESPN Analytics predicts a Gopher win. It has been a roller coaster of emotions for me this season with Gopher hoops, so I’m not really sure what to think.
Until proven otherwise, I don’t think I trust this team, but I am very excited to see them against higher caliber competition.
Minnesota – 71
San Francisco – 75
