MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: After a dominant end to a dominant season, Cam Schlittler will be receiving the 2026 American League Cy Young Award, and although it’s unlikely he will be the first pitcher to take home MVP honors since Clayton Kershaw in 2014, he has a good shot at being named one of the three finalists. He will not be the only Yankee with a chance at bringing home hardware, however: Ben Rice is a finalist for the Hank Aaron Award and will presumably be a Silver Slugger finalist, Cody Bellinger
has already been named the recipient of the 2026 Fielding Bible Award for left field and is one of the three Gold Glove finalists in left, David Bednar and Brent Headrick will be on the short list for reliever of the year, and both Paul Blackburn and Gerrit Cole have outside shots to be Comeback Player of the Year. Even with Aaron Judge missing most of the season, the Bronx will get to celebrate some personal accomplishments this year.
ESPN | Jorge Posada: While a guest on a New York Post podcast, former Yankees catcher Jorge Posada expressed a belief that the Yankees organization does not want him around — a belief that appears to date back to 2011, when the team moved him out from behind the plate and utilized him almost exclusively as a part-time designated hitter. Throughout the interview, he also discussed the Yankees’ postseason woes, his time in the Marlins front office and as the Team Italy bench coach during the World Baseball Classic, and his belief that his “no-nonsense approach” could prevent him from pursuing a coaching career in Major League Baseball.
