Week 8 was a second consecutive week missing more than we hit after 4 straight weeks looking smart-ish. The staff was a collective 21-27. Christian was the best performer at 5-3. Cole and Import were right behind at 4-4. Tom and I just missed out on .500 at 3-5. Andrew scuffled to a 2-6 mark. Oh, and YOU PEOPLE were a hilarious 1-7 with the only right answer being Georgia. You needed the refs to give you a cover.
Our unanimous pick of Oklahoma to lose by 2.5 or less fell apart mightily in John Mateer’s
less-than-triumphant return. Only Tom thought Missouri would stay within 3.5 of Alabama which they did by losing by exactly 3. Arkansas at Tennessee was also only a FG game instead of the 2-score game the line expected, so congrats to Cole and Christian for being the lone Woo Pig respecters … or maybe just THEM haters.The unexpectedly tight game between Washington State and Ole Miss along with Texas A&M winning rather comfortably against Florida and Indiana beating Oregon as 7.5-point underdogs were all even split by the staff.

This week’s schedule has every SEC team playing a conference matchup to go with the Holy War between Utah and BYU. There are 3 games that have been unanimously picked. Two more games are 5 to 1. Another trio of games have the slim 4 to 2 split. That leaves just 1 game evenly picked.
The Rules
- Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick.
- The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling, which is especially important with sports gambling being legal in Tennessee now.
- The lines will be taken from FanDuel, who SB Nation has partnered with this season, some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published. I may also use a backup for FBS-FCS matchups if the line is available elsewhere when I get the spreads.
