For the first time in the 2026 season — and one of the few times that this is scheduled to be the case — the Green Bay Packers will be buried in the midst of the early Sunday kickoff window in Week 2. Green Bay’s matchup with the New York Jets, to be aired on FOX, is far from a prime game for the network.
This week, FOX has the nationwide doubleheader, with Commanders-Cowboys set to be their primary game in the late window. They still have four games on in the 12:00 Noon Central kickoff time slot,
however, with Packers-Jets being among them. That means that Packers fans outside the Wisconsin and New York media markets will have a lesser chance of seeing the game, something made worse by an NFC North divisional matchup in the same window.
Yes, Packers-Jets goes up against Vikings-Bears, which will be shown to most of the country this week. The other two competing games — Eagles-Titans and Panthers-Falcons — will be limited in their broadcast areas as well.

That’s Minnesota-Chicago in blue, getting most of the airplay, with Eagles-Titans in red and Carolina-Atlanta in yellow.
Adding insult to injury for Packers fans this week is FOX’s choice of commentators for their game. Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma will be on the call for Packers-Jets, and the pairing ranked 14th out of 18 NFL announcer tandems in Awful Announcing’s NFL fan survey ranking for the 2025 season.
