We’re on the board, Syracuse Orange fans.
Of course, it came with maximum anxiety, but the Orange woke up late and survived against UConn with a thrilling 27-20 overtime win.
If Fran Brown’s crew dropped to 0-2, the Military Bowl O’Meter would’ve been in serious jeopardy. Luckily, quarterback Steve Angeli helped orchestrate touchdown drives of 80 and 90 yards in the fourth quarter to keep the Orange
afloat.
Even better, the meter gets its first positive update of the 2025 campaign. Check it out below:

Things “should” only get better with a matchup against FCS opponent Colgate on Friday night. Here’s where the experts project the Orange in the postseason picture after Week 2:
ESPN – Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura
No bowl
Still nothing from the Worldwide Leader of Sports even after the win. A victory over Colgate probably won’t move the needle much, either, so the Orange will need to put up a fight against Clemson in Week 4 to be considered.
Birmingham Bowl vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
Pivoted away from last week’s Military Bowl projection, but, hey, at least we’re going bowling. From what I could find, these two schools have never faced off in football, so I’m all-in on this matchup.
No bowl
Like last year, CBS is non-committal on an Orange Bowl game. SU made the Fenway Bowl in the preseason predictions, but hasn’t cracked the list in the past two weeks. At least they chose Navy in the Military Bowl as the American representative instead of Memphis this week.
