Fresh off a sweep over the Chicago State Cougars, the No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers are facing off against the Milwaukee Panthers at the UW Field House on Tuesday, with first serve set for 7:00 p.m. on Big Ten Plus.
The Badgers had their most successful week yet, recording their first and second sweeps of the season against UC Davis and Chicago State, respectively.
They had some close sets against UC Davis, winning 25-23, 26-24, 25-15 on Thursday. But, Friday’s match against Chicago State was far less competitive,
with the Badgers running away 25-8, 25-13, 25-11 for the sweep.
The two wins boosted them to 3-1, as the Badgers moved up two spots in the AVCA Top 25 to No. 6. They got some help from Arizona State and Penn State, who both dropped after losses last week, and will look to keep their ranking this week.
They face a Milwaukee team that has gone 0-5 to start the season, losing to Omaha (2x), Iowa State, Central Michigan, and South Alabama. Each of them was a sweep, except for their most recent match to South Alabama, which beat Milwaukee 3-1.
Wisconsin has a tough battle with No. 21 Georgia Tech, which has started the season 5-1 with wins over Ole Miss and No. 17 Purdue, on the road on Friday. But first, they must get past Milwaukee on Tuesday.
Can the Badgers get a third consecutive sweep on Tuesday evening?
