Mosape Ominiyi reports that Kurt Scoby will step up on less than two weeks’ notice to face top super lightweight prospect Adam Azim on the November 15th Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 undercard at Tottenham
Hotspur Stadium, confirming a rumor shared last week by Mo’ Boxing, No Problem.
Azim (13-0, 10 KO), fighting for just the second time since mauling Ohara Davis in October of last year thanks to summer foe Eliot Chavez illegally using a sauna to cut weight, was initially slated to fight former title contender Zaur Abdullaev. Depending on who you ask, Abdullaev either withdrew due to visa issues or never actually signed a contract in the first place. The fact that BoxRec lists a November 22nd date with Hugo Alberto Roldan in Ekaterinburg has me leaning towards the latter.
Whatever the cause, Scoby (18-1, 16 KO) gets the call for his second fight in under two months. He’s racked up six finishes over marginal opposition since a derailing upset loss to Dakota Linger in April of last year.
The rest of the undercard includes Jack Catterall vs Ekow Essuman, Sam Gilley vs Ishmael Davis, and Richard Riakporhe vs Tommy Welch.
