Two 4-2 teams meet up in Prime Time as the Chicago Bears host the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The Bears are coming off a win over the Atlanta Falcons, led by the return of Caleb Williams and Kyler Gordon. Williams didn’t have as many splash plays as usual, but he was a precise 30 of 36 for 305 yards, and he earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award. Gordon’s game was mostly splash with 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in just 17 defensive snaps.
The Patriots had a slow start,
but have won three straight behind Drake Maye’s 10 touchdown passes to just 1 interception after throwing 6 picks to just 1 tuddy over their first three games.
These are two well-coached, evenly matched teams, with good young quarterbacks, and whoever comes out on top will likely see their Super Bowl odds improve. Our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook have the Bears with the eighth-best odds for the Super Bowl at +1500 and the Pats eleventh at +2000.
As for the game, they have the Bears as a 3-point favorite, with the over/under set at 50.5. Thursday night games don’t always follow the script, but I think this will be a close one, with the Bears coming out on top, 34 to 33.
I also like the over on passing yards for both quarterbacks, with Williams set at 241.5 and Maye at 246.5.
Do you expect fireworks tonight, or a low-scoring affair?
