Julian Alvarez’s agent Fernando Hidalgo has hit back at rumors that the Atletico Madrid star has been suffering from depression.
The Argentina star has missed training with Atletico this week, leading to speculation that he informed his club he was depressed.
Hidalgo says there is no truth at all in the rumor about the Argentina international. Alvarez was spotted training on Friday but worked separately away from his team-mates at the end of the day.
“All the rumors and slander circulating about Julián
Álvarez suffering from depression have no basis in truth,” he told 365Scores.
“And we have not submitted any medical report to Atlético Madrid management indicating that he is suffering from a psychological crisis.”
Alvarez is said to have been absent from training due to illness, while Gil Marin has said the forward is upset due to his current situation at the club. The forward wants to leave but has seen a transfer to Barcelona blocked.
Atletico have now issued a statement to confirm they will not sell Alvarez to Barcelona and are hoping that he will now return to training with the team and be available for their next La Liga match.
