Bayern Munich are used to having world class forwards in the roster that play at the highest level. The likes of Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, Franck Ribéry, Robert Lewandowski Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben are just some of the names that have torn Europe to shreds in a red jersey. However, outside of Jamal Musiala, it has been a while since Bayern have had a world class forward as young as Michael Olise.
The French forward has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Bavaria and has already cemented himself as one of
the best forwards (or wingers or however one wants to label his position) in the world. That, along with the 24-year-old’s age, makes the former Crystal Palace player the kind of hot commodity Bayern have not had much of in the last decade.
That does not mean the Bavarians want to let Olise go. Quite the contrary, in fact.
“We’ll still have him with us for many years to come,” CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen confidently stated after the 5-1 win over FC Köln and the subsequent Bundesliga party (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s simply a joy to watch him play football. He’s also an important factor in the dressing room.”
Every big club in Europe may be watching Olise but Bayern are the ones who have him under contract. And they want to keep him for a long, long time.
