The college football playoff kicks off on Friday, so it’s time to break down who the top draft prospects are in these games. As always, the rankings come from the consensus draft board. Juniors will have
one asterisk next to their name, while draft-eligible sophomores will have two.

Alabama clearly has the talent advantage in the first playoff game, but the Crimson Tide has really struggled to run the football all season, and Oklahoma has had the edge over them recently. Earlier in 2025, Oklahoma gave Alabama the Crimson Tide their only regular-season SEC loss of the year. The Sooners also beat them 24-3 in 2024, too.
This year, Alabama only rushed for 3.6 yards per attempt, which is the second-worst number in the SEC. Against Georgia, they carried the ball 16 times for -3 yards.
The winner of this game will play Indiana in the Rose Bowl.

All four of Miami’s draftable seniors this year are sixth-year players, so they’re older than you’d expect. Edge rusher Akheem Mesidor, notably, will be 25 years old on draft day after spending two years at West Virginia and four more with the Hurricanes.
As far as players from The U are concerned, Packers fans might want to keep tabs on quarterback Carson Beck. This quarterback class isn’t going to be very deep, but Green Bay is going to need to come out of this draft with a backup behind Jordan Love. I wouldn’t be surprised if the team spent a third- or fourth-round pick at the position. The Georgia transfer is at least someone who will be in the conversation.
For an A&M player, look at left tackle Trey Zuhn III, who was given the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2025, which is awarded to the best offensive linemen in the league by vote of the SEC’s coaches. He split that with Alabama’s Kadyn Proctor, who is expected to be a top-20 selection.
I’ve been told that Zuhn began cross-training at center this summer and is prepared to play that position at the next level. While he hasn’t been hyped up to this point in the draft process, he should rise up boards as a center candidate as we get closer to the draft.
The winner of this game will play Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.

This is sort of a one-player game with defensive tackle Zxavian Harris (6’7”, 330) being the headliner. Technically, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is a senior, but he’s currently in the process of obtaining a waiver from the NCAA for an extra year of play, on the basis of a potential retroactive redshirt.
The winner of this game will play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
James Madison @ Oregon

This is another lop-sided game, with the Ducks having six future pros on the line of scrimmage alone, and James Madison not having an NFL prospect at all. Seven of Oregon’s nine draftable prospects are underclassmen, with defensive tackle Bear Alexander already stating that he’s returning to the program next year.
If you’re going to watch this game, which will overlap with Packers-Bears, keep an eye on the left side of the line, where Isaiah World (left tackle) and Emmanuel Pregnon (left guard) line up.
