The transfer window is entering its busiest stretch, and Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl made it clear that patience is still the name of the game.
Speaking about Bayern Munich’s players who have been linked with moves away, Eberl emphasized that the club’s position has not changed, even as the market begins to heat up.
“I think our stance regarding that is clear. It hasn’t changed in three days. The transfer market is extremely volatile. There are big transfers happening. I think August
will be very intensive. We’re dependent on what happens, which clubs show interest, which clubs will qualify for the Champions League or Europa League and need players. There’s definitely some movement, I can say that. The guys [Palhinha, Boey, Zaragoza] have a market, but we can’t say yet that something will happen in the next couple of days,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
While João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza continue to be mentioned as potential departures, Eberl’s comments suggest Bayern Munich is not under pressure to force deals through. Instead, the club appears willing to wait as the dominoes begin to fall across Europe.
That approach makes sense. Many clubs are still finalizing their squads, and qualification for European competitions can significantly impact transfer budgets and priorities. As more high-profile moves are completed throughout August, opportunities could emerge for Bayern Munich to negotiate favorable deals.
The key takeaway is that there is interest. Eberl confirmed all three players have a market, but he also cautioned against expecting immediate announcements. With several weeks remaining in the transfer window, Bayern Munich appears content to let the market develop rather than rush into decisions.
The coming weeks could be crucial as Bayern Munich continues shaping its squad for the new season, with outgoing transfers potentially playing a major role in any remaining business before the window closes.
