Barcelona were dealt another injury blow on Wednesday night as Joan Garcia was forced off with an injury in the closing stages of the team’s Champions League last 16 second leg against Newcastle
.Garcia appeared to pick up a calf problem and went off in the 81st minute, with Hansi Flick sending on Wojciech Szczęsny in his place.
The news will be a blow to Barcelona but the hope will be that it’s not a serious problem and he won’t be out for too long.
Garcia wasn’t the only Barca player injured against
the Magpies. Eric Garcia made his return from a knock in the game but went off early and was replaced by Ronald Araujo.
The good news for Barcelona is that the next international break is looming which should give their injured stars time to recover before we head into the final few weeks of the 2025-26 season.
