Chelsea youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan has completed a move to West Bromwich Albion today, signing a four-year contract with the Championship outfit. West Brom are reportedly paying £4m to make the transfer happen, which includes a “substantial” sell-on clause as well.
Morgan rejoined Chelsea in 2023 after spending six years in the Southampton academy. The young striker had gotten his start at Cobham initially, at the U8 level, but then moved back closer to home a few years later.
“I’m buzzing to be here.
I’m really excited and it was an easy choice. [The manager] told me about the style of football he wants to play and how I’m going to fit into that. […] I feel very happy. I want to help the club finish in a much higher position than last year, and, individually, I want to play as much as I can, learn as much as I can and, hopefully, score plenty of goals.”

Morgan spent last season on loan at third division Peterborough United, scoring 14 times in 39 appearances in all competitions. West Brom barely survived the drop last season, so they’ll be hoping the 20-year-old can replicate those numbers in the second division as well.
Farewell, JJ, and good luck!
