Barring a last-second surprise, the Jacksonville Jaguars will not participate in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Its original 24th overall pick was traded to the Cleveland Browns in a package for WR/CB Travis Hunter during Round 1 of last year’s draft.
If the Jaguars happen to move into the first round after this article was posted, it will likely be into the back half of the round, meaning we may not know which prospect Jacksonville traded up for to select until after 11 p.m. ET.
But what about the
pick that they’re actually expected to use?
The on-the-clock ticker shortens from eight to seven minutes once Round 2 begins. If each team were to use its full allotted time, and the Jaguars did not move up or down, their 56th overall pick would be made at 9:48 p.m. on Friday.
Not every team uses the full seven minutes, though, especially after the first night of the draft. Here’s a list of when each 56th pick was made in each of the past five drafts (based on when the picks were posted at x.com/NFLDraft).
- 2025 — 8:50 pm
- 2024 — 8:59 pm
- 2023 — 8:51 pm
- 2022 — 8:54 pm
- 2021 — 8:57 pm
Assuming they keep the 56th pick, expect Jacksonville to draft between 8:45 and 9 pm on Friday.
Without a first-round pick, there aren’t any Jaguars-specific draft bets to parse through on FanDuel Sportsbook, but some of my favorite non-Jaguars wagers are Clemson DT Peter Woods to be a top-32 pick (-160) and Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson to be a top-10 pick (+320).
