Dan Quinn is back for his weekly “Tell the Truth Mondays” as the team begins their official Week 1 preparations. The season opener is in Philadelphia this year, and they’re visiting last season’s NFC East Champion Eagles. They are big underdogs, and follow that up with another road division game against the Cowboys. Quinn said everyone participated in practice today, including OLB Odafe Oweh who is dealing with a calf injury. Today was only a walkthrough, but Quinn said everyone is trending towards
being available for Week 1.
Quinn likes the energy he’s seen from the team so far, and also the leadership. He named five season-long captains, a change from the weekly captains he’s done the previous years. He will still name one additional captain weekly, but Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Frankie Luvu, Jeremy Reaves, and Tress Way are clear leaders in the locker room. Daniels only played one series in the preseason again, but Quinn insisted that he has gotten more reps in training camp and during joint practices that prepared him for his third season in the NFL. Training camp has been more intense than Quinn’s first two in Washington, another part of the plan to not have a repeat of last year’s disappointing 5-12 record.
