Quick Refresher:
Paul McNeil is a 6’5” / 180 lb guard from Rockingham NC. Paul will be a sophomore with three remaining seasons of eligibility. Coach Wade and his staff evaluated
Paul as the highest rated returning Wolfpack player, and one of his first priorities after taking the job at NC State was to convince Paul to reenlist.
- McNeil came to the Wolfpack last season as a highly touted, 4-star prospect from Richmond High School, where he was a former NC Gatorade Player of the Year and was ranked as a Top 100 prospect.
- As a freshman he appeared in 24 games, starting 3. He averaged 4.2 / 1.3 / 0.8, but he came on strong late in the season scoring in double figures in four of the last eight games including a 24-point game against Wake Forest, which tied for the most points in a game by a Wolfpack player last season. He led the team in scoring once, in assists twice and steals twice.
- Paul was also on the All-ACC Academic team.
- As a high school senior, he averaged 31.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. He scored 20 or more points 25 times, 30 or more points 17 times and 40 or more points six times in his senior season. He set the NC high school single-game record scoring 71 points.
