While reports continue to suggest that LeBron James is favoring a return to the Eastern Conference, the Golden State Warriors continue to be mentioned with an outside shot of landing King James. As James allows his free agency saga to continue deeper and deeper into the offseason, in his quintessential melodramatic fashion, fanbases around the league are dealing with a Schrödinger’s roster, one with and without James at once. A recent poll of Dub Nation from SB Nation Reacts asked Warriors fans how
they would feel about signing James, given the team’s prolonged rivalry with the former Cavs, Heat, and Lakers star.
Perhaps unsurprisingly for those around the fanbase, the majority of fans who responded to the poll “like” or “love” the idea of adding James (60%). While the Warriors have obviously had some contested moments with him over the years, they have not faced off in the postseason since 2023. Moreover, neither James nor the Warriors have come close to the NBA Finals in recent seasons. It’s far easier to put that history aside with Dub Nation desperate to see Steph Curry contend for a championship once again.
