According to a report from Deportes Cope journalist Arancha Rodríguez (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Real Madrid and German national team center-back Antonio Rüdiger has sustained an injury that will sideline him for the next three months — meaning he will miss the rest of Germany’s qualifiers:
Antonio Rüdiger will be sidelined for around 3 months with injury. That means he would miss the remaining 4 games of Germany’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
Real Madrid released vague information on the injury:
Following tests carried out today on our player Toni Rüdiger by the Real Madrid medical team, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the rectus femoris muscle of his left leg. The outcome is pending.
On a good note, at least Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck is training with BVB again after being out since April with a meniscus tear. Schlotterback should be able to slide directly into the now-vacant center-back spot for Germany.
