After losing 5-4 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of its Champions League tie, one might think that the Bavarians will try to change some things up.
Per center-back Jonathan Tah, that will not be the case.
“Generally speaking, our style of play has brought us to where we are now. It makes no sense for us to change anything about it. We want to play attractive and attacking football. Of course, it’s demanding, but that’s our style of play and we won’t change it,” Tah said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
“It was a strange feeling after the (first) game. The way we came back felt positive. On the other hand, we conceded five goals. The result reflects that it was a very eventful game; I’ve never experienced a game like it before.
“I’m really looking forward to this game. You’re even more tense and focused. But the anticipation outweighs everything else, especially with the first leg behind us. It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s important to me not to forget why I started playing football – it’s about fun and passion.”
Tah thinks the backline’s communication and organization will play a key role in Bayern Munich’s ability to slowdown the PSG attack.
“Their players move around and switch positions a lot, just like we do. The most important thing is that we are aggressive and get into the challenges. We have to win duels and second balls, and do everything to avoid getting countered,” Tah noted.
Finally, Tah made a plea to fans to make it rowdy at the Allianz Arena.
“We definitely notice when everything is red. What I feel most is this special atmosphere. Against Real, we felt the support from the moments we went out to warm up. We felt it was different. That’s an extreme push, you can’t underestimate that when the whole stadium is behind us,” Tah said.
