The AEW roster has several birthdays today (Nov. 8), and the company is recognizing these stars on social media. For example here is Kazuchika Okada calling everyone “bitches” on his special day.
What I find to be a lot more interesting is that AEW finally remembered that Keith Lee exists today, because it’s his birthday too.
Lee has not wrestled since he suffered a knee injury towards the end of 2023 that required surgery, nearly two years ago. When Keith was asked about his status earlier this summer, he said, “I’ve been good for quite some time.” He also pointed out, “It is not up to me when it comes to a return.”
One way to interpret these statements taken together is that Keith Lee is healthy but sitting on the bench while waiting for Tony Khan to put him back on AEW programming. Not surprisingly, many fans are responding to AEW’s birthday message today by asking if the company will put him back on TV as his birthday present. Tonight’s live episode of AEW Collision does take place in Lee’s home state of Texas, so who knows, maybe that birthday wish can actually come true.
When do you think we’ll see Keith Lee back in an AEW ring, if ever? Give me your best guesses in the comments below, Cagesiders.
