Bayern Munich pancaked Hamburger SV on its way to a 5-0 Bundesliga win last weekend, and already an early air of inevitability is settling. The record champions are in a steamrolling mood, despite numerous key absences, and the rest of the league is looking a little left behind.
But Harry Kane does not think that means it will make for a dull season. At least, it’s early to say.
“I don’t think it will be boring,” Kane remarked in comments captured by Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia). “And if it is, then
that’s a compliment to us. Two years ago, people didn’t say that when we didn’t win the league. There’s [Borussia] Dortmund, [Bayer] Leverkusen, [Eintracht] Frankfurt, they’ll challenge us.
“We had the chance [against HSV] to pull away a bit. It’s good to be at the top, I hope we can keep our foot on the gas.”
Bayern’s perfect start to the season is unmatched in the Bundesliga. The Bavarians return to league action on September 20th at TSG Hoffenheim.
