The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves before traveling to London on Tuesday afternoon.
Linebacker Leo Chenal suffered a neck fracture during Sunday’s win over the Seahawks. He was carted off the field and had surgery within 24 hours, ending his first season in Washington. The Commanders linebacker depth was tested vs Seattle, but second-year pro Kain Medrano stepped up with a pick-six to help secure the victory.
Veteran Frankie Luvu has missed the last two games, but is traveling
to London and could return versus the Colts on Sunday.
The Commanders also announced the practice squad OLB Marvin Jones Jr. was placed on the injured liste with an undisclosed injury.
It was reported earlier this week that running back Austin Ekeler was re-signing with the Commanders. He suffered an Achilles’ tendon injury Week 2 last season that ended his year, and looked like it might end his playing career.
He’s back on the 53-man roster after receiving interest from the Panthers for a spot on their practice squad. Rachaad White was dealing whot a possible shoulder injury on Sunday, but this deal has been in the works since before that game.
