Christian Kirk won’t play for the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. The veteran wide receiver returned to practice last week for the first time since suffering a calf strain at the end of July.
It’s been nearly three months since Kirk was on a football field. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the 49ers give him the next couple of weeks, through the bye week, to get back into playing shape.
Two players were activated from the practice squad. Wide receiver Malik Turner and linebacker Jalen
Graham will be on the Week 6 roster.
Graham likely takes over for Garret Wallow on special teams, with Jaden Dugger filling in for Dre Greenlaw at WILL linebacker defensively.
Turner’s GPS times are among the team’s fastest, per Sumer Sports. So it’s not surprising to see him active once again to cover kicks. With Deebo Samuel ruled out, the 49ers only activating one receiver from the practice squad is a good sign for Evans’ availability.
Evans, Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins, and Brandin Cooks will join Turner as the wideouts for tonight. T
