We have met our annual quota of signing players from Brighton & Hove Albion by announcing the arrival of young attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on loan from the (Chel-)Sea-gulls.
The loan appears to include no options or obligations, and we are reportedly paying £2m to make it happen. That’s not too bad, though it seems a bit pointless without any future considerations. The 20-year-old was very close to joining Leeds United before Chelsea swooped in.
That said, Buonanotte is a proven performer
at Premier League level already despite his young age, and he could add another useful, creative, left-footed option to our attack. The 20-year-old has 9 goals in 71 Premier League appearances to his name for Brighton and Leicester City, where he was on loan last season.
“I’m very happy to join Chelsea. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m just looking to add as much to the squad as possible, help the team and help the staff.”

Welcome, Facundo! Let’s win some things.
