Liverpool start their Champions League campaign tonight against their first of two Madrid sides at home. Atletico has proven to be a tricky side for the Reds in recent years, although they did beat them both home and away the last time they faced off in the Champions League group stages in 2021, back when there were Champions League group stages. The Reds start and end their league phase at Anfield, so it would be really great if
they could start things off with maximum points on the board, especially against a historically difficult to beat side.
