Good morning Gang Green Nation!
The Tennessee Titans waived receiver Treylon Burks the other day. He was a first round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, but he never panned out in Tennessee. His struggles were due, in large part, to injuries. Burks has suffered a sprained LCL, a torn ACL and a broken collarbone in his brief NFL career. As a result, he has played in just 27 out of a possible 56 games. When he’s been on the field he has had issues with drops, and other than a decent rookie year, he has not
impressed. It is a measure of how desperate the Jets are at the wide receiver position that, despite never being healthy and despite lackluster play when he’s been on the field, Burks might still be worth a flyer for the Jets. He’s still just 25 years old. Sure, why not? He’ll most likely never amount to anything, even if he can shake the injury bug, but even a dud like Burks has a better chance of success in the NFL than over the hill bums like Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds.
