At the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos signed several undrafted free agents, including Iowa State offensive tackle Tyler Miller. He is a massive player who comes in at 6-9 and 335 pounds and gives the Broncos yet another large human at the offensive tackle position.
The Broncos love BIG offensive tackles.
They signed Mike McGlinchey, who is 6-8 with long arms, Frank Crum is 6-8 with long arms, Matt Peart is 6-7 with nearly 37-inch arms, and now they signed Tyler Miller, who is a 6-9,
335-pound offensive tackle with 34-inch arms.
Miller played a total of five seasons at Iowa State and appeared in 55 games for the Cyclones, which includes 50 career starts. He started his career at left tackle before shifting over to the right side, where he started for three seasons and earned All-Big 12 Third Team honors this past season.
Now he joins the Broncos as an undrafted free agent and gives them yet another massive and athletic offensive tackle to develop. We have seen former undrafted free agents Alex Palczewski and Frank Crum make the 53-man roster in their rookie seasons and become key reserves for them. Could Tyler Miller follow in their footsteps?

Tyler Miller’s 2026 outlook with the Broncos?
I think he could push for a spot on the 53-man roster if things shake out a certain way, but he seems like a lock to be on their 16-man practice squad at the very least.
Right now, the Broncos’ reserve offensive tackles are veteran Matt Peart, Frank Crum, undrafted rookie Gavin Ortega (he could be a G/T player), potentially 4th round rookie Kage Casey, who will be a G/T player, and undrafted rookie Tyler Miller. So, there is an avenue where Miller could make the 53-man roster if he impresses during training camp and the preseason.
First, he would likely need either Casey or Crum to become the Broncos’ main swing tackle and replace veteran Matt Peart. If that were to happen, and the team parted ways with Peart, who took a pay cut already to stay with the team, it would open up a roster spot for Miller. We saw the Broncos carry Frank Crum on the 53-man roster his rookie year, despite not really playing and being viewed as a developmental player, and Miller could potentially do the same this season. This also would allow him to avoid hitting the waiver wire and potentially being claimed by an offensive tackle-needy team.
Now, a lot of things would have to fall into place for that to happen, and the more realistic option would be for him to land on the practice squad. The risk here is again, he could be claimed on the waiver wire, but it is probably the more realistic avenue for him right now. With that said, if he impresses, he could force the Broncos’ hand a bit and have them find a way to keep him on the 53-man roster.
Head coach Sean Payton met with the media after the Broncos’ rookie minicamp practice last week, and when talking about the offensive line group, he told reporters the team was able to sign a number of players that they had draftable grades on.
“I would say the offensive line just in general, when you come out and you look at them, we were able to draft a player and then sign a number of guys that we had draftable grades on. It’s an impressive-looking group.”
The team signed two undrafted free agent offensive linemen, with one of them being Tyler Miller. So, if they had a draftable grade on Miller, that could help him potentially make the 53-man roster since they already thought highly of him.
Final Thoughts
Miller has impressive size and traits, and when you pair that with the Broncos recent history of developing undrafted rookie offensive linemen, it’s hard not to get excited about his potential.
I think he has a real shot at the 53-man roster. First, I believe veteran Matt Peart is on the hot seat. He took a pay cut to stay with the team, which is never a good sign, and they have several young players behind him who could have elevated roles this upcoming season. Rookie Kage Casey played left tackle at Boise State and could be viewed as a potential left tackle/left guard backup. Then you have Frank Crum, who the team seems to love, who could be looking at a larger role this upcoming season. On top of that, you also have Alex Palczewski, who has proven he can play guard or right tackle in the NFL. So, they have options already on the roster who could replace Peart, and if that happens, that would open up a roster spot for Tyler Miller.
Now, Miller will need to earn that 53-man roster spot, of course. If he shows promise this summer and they believe they can develop him and do not want to risk him going to waivers, then he certainly can make the team. We saw the Patriots claim OT Demontrey Jacobs a few years back after the Broncos waived him during final cuts, so that can happen.
In the end, I am intrigued to see how Miller does this summer and what Payton and the Broncos think about him. Their recent track record with undrafted offensive linemen has me excited about his potential, and hopefully he can follow in Alex Palczewski and Frank Crum’s footsteps and make the Broncos’ 53-man roster his rookie season.
