It was another terrible day of playcalling from the Tennessee Titans. They decided to go wildcat three different times, and it was a disaster each time. They also lined up and tried to run power with Tony Pollard behind the right side of the offensive line on 4th and goal from the one yard line. It’s amazing how inept this offensive staff is.
The final score makes it look like the offense was better than it actually was today. They got a pick-six from Cody Barton and a punt return for a touchdown
from Chimere Dike. They did not score an offensive touchdown in the game. Dike is one of the few bright spots for this team. He is a weapon on special teams. He had been a weapon on offense the last couple of weeks, but today they decided to go back to targeting him at the line of scrimmage instead of down the field.
Cam Ward wasn’t very good today. He ends the day 12 of 21 for 145 yards. He had a pass that should have been intercepted but was dropped. He also missed a wide open Van Jefferson on a third and long that would have been a first down.
Elic Ayomanor led the team with 46 receiving yards. Tyjae Spears had 62 total yards. There isn’t much else to talk about on the offensive side of the ball.
The defense actually did well getting pressure on Justin Herbert. They sacked him six times. Dre’Mont Jones had a sack for the fourth straight week. He probably won’t be a Titan this time next week.
Maybe one day I will be able to write about competent offensive football. Maybe.
