As we continue to look at rosters in the WCY Dynasty Fantasy Football League, let’s take some time today to look at our friends at “Bears On Tap” who are in the league with Quinten Krzysko and Ron Luce. Let’s start with Q, or Butkus Stats, as many of you know him.
Q is another individual who just joined the league this year. He inherited a roster that certainly needs some love and TLC, and we will see how Q, who studies the draft and knows NFL prospects well, does in turning this roster around.
Let’s
start by taking a look at his roster:
Let’s start with what I would consider to be a near-perfect QB room. He has a great starter in Lamar Jackson, a solid backup with CJ Stroud, and a developmental QB with Fernando Mendoza. If Stroud keeps going in the wrong direction, obviously, a little concern there, but overall, not really any issue to concern yourself with here.
The running back room looks like it might be the biggest strength of this team. Even if Jonathan Taylor regresses this year and isn’t quite as dominant, the room still has Charbonnet without Kenneth Walker (once he returns from his ACL injury). But even past that, Judkins is there, and we will see what Gainwell’s role is in Tampa with Bucky Irving.
The WR room has potential if it can stay healthy. Jaylen Waddle as his WR1 and Zay Flowers as his WR2 are certainly a good place to start. Will Reed and Watson both be on the field? If they are, that’s a solid 4 WRs to start. Unfortunately, there’s not a ton of depth behind those 4, so if one of them is banged up, there’s certainly going to be some issues as to who is going to pick up the slack for Q.
At tight end, will Henry do it again? He’s 31, and he’s been up and down throughout his career, but Maye certainly loves him. I love Delp’s upside; the rest of the room has a limited ceiling.
Moving over to the defensive side of the ball, there’s not a lot to love about the DT room. I love Ed Oliver, but he’s never producing the way he should. Just a bunch of dudes in this room, mostly. Drafting some rookies was a good idea; I will be curious if McDonald and Hunter can penetrate and be disruptive (that scores points) and not just draw doubles and eat up space (great in football, not so great in fantasy football).
The Edge room is pretty loaded. Aidan Hutchinson is the dream. Cam Jordan enters his final season, but Nik Bonitto is waiting, as are Latu and Hines-Allen, and hey, Austin Booker to boot. Not sure how this room could get any better.
The linebacker room has a couple of good pieces, led by Ernest Jones. Can Dean stay healthy? What will Greenlaw be back in SF? Wilson should be a starting MLB in Arizona, which should get points. Williams could be good if he keeps his starting spot (A lot of buzz in Buffalo about rookie Kaleb Elarms-Orr), or could the rookie grab Bernard’s spot? He has a couple of Detroit LBs, but unfortunately, neither of them is Jack Campbell.
We reach the CB room, and I will give my evergreen statement, “This roster has too many cornerbacks.”
I like the safety room. A lot of young talent here with upside, and I’m a big fan of Starks.
Overall, this team has some strengths and some massive holes. The defense has the potential to produce enough points, and if the WR and TE rooms stay healthy, this could be a playoff team, but if these WRs struggle to stay healthy again, there just isn’t depth behind them to keep the team afloat.
