The wrestling world was shocked and angered when WWE released Kairi Sane following WrestleMania 42, especially since she was being prominently featured in a storyline on television involving fellow Japanese stars Iyo Sky and Asuka.
At the time, Kairi and Asuka were teaming up as The Kabuki Warriors and feuding with their former friend Sky, who had aligned herself with Rhea Ripley to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from the Warriors.
WWE was teasing a split with The Kabuki Warriors, though,
as Asuka blamed Kairi for their recent failures, and Sane seemingly becoming more sympathetic towards Iyo. However, news broke on April 24 that Sane was among the names on WWE’s massive roster cut, a move which she later said came a “huge shock” to her.
Fans were equally surprised, and the audience at Backlash in May voiced their displeasure by chanting “We want Kairi” throughout a match between Sky and Asuka.
But for anyone clamoring to see Sane and Asuka together again, they can now watch the duo reunited in a video posted Sunday (October 11) on Asuka’s YouTube channel (KanaChanTV).

In the clip, the erstwhile Kabuki Warriors are meeting up to celebrate Sane’s birthday, and the two exchange gifts while smiling for the camera.
After Asuka briefly sings the “Happy Birthday” song to Kairi, The Pirate Princess appears onscreen to say “Ahoy, guys.” The two then go on to offer some pleasantries to one another in their native language before the short video ends.
Asuka has maintained an online presence in recent months, often in the service of showing off her new puppy, while she’s taking time off from the ring following her loss to Sky at Backlash. However, she has stated that she is not retired nor has she left WWE.
Kairi, meanwhile, is considered one of the hottest free against in wrestling at the moment, with rumors continuing to swirl about AEW wanting to make her All Elite.
What do you think, Cagesiders? Would you like to see The Kabuki Warriors wrestle together again? What promotion would you prefer to see them in? Let us know in the comments.
